Privacy Policy

GSA collects only what it needs to run your membership, never sells your personal information, and never shows your phone, email or birth date to GSA Businesses, Vendors or other members.

What we collect

We don't use advertising trackers. Text-message codes are off at launch; if we add them, your phone number goes to our SMS provider only to send codes.

Who sees what

• GSA Businesses and Vendors see only your name and photo when they check you in, and your name and number on orders, rewards and their top-customer list. Never your phone, email or birth date.
• Other members see you only if you opt in (Community Spotlight, Community Circle), and only what you choose to show.
• The public sees aggregate numbers only (for example founding spots left per state), and the retired-numbers wall shows numbers, not names.
• GSA staff see what their job needs; every staff action is logged.

Service providers we share with

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people's safety.

How long we keep it

• Account information: while your account is active and up to 3 years after it ends, unless the law requires longer (for example payment records for tax purposes).
• Staff, partner and owner activity logs: up to 7 years.
• Optional interests and goals: until you delete them (one click on the Interests page).

Your choices and rights

• See, correct or download your information: your account page, or write to support@globalsomaliassociation.com.
• Delete your account: write to support@globalsomaliassociation.com. Some records (payments, logs) are kept as the law requires.
• Opt out of the Spotlight and the Circle at any time; it takes effect immediately.
• California, Washington and other state residents may have additional rights under state law; contact us to use them. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.

Children

GSA accounts are for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

Access is limited by account type and enforced in the database. Sign-in with Face ID or fingerprint (when offered) stores only public keys. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at support@globalsomaliassociation.com if you see a problem.
